10 May 2022 - Cat states and multipartite entanglement, on arXiv

The many-body dynamics of certain quantum simulators generates a cascade of peculiar entangled states, including spin-squeezed and Schroedinger-cat states. We report on this in our most recent preprint “Multipartite entangled states in dipolar quantum simulators”, now available on arXiv.

18 Feb 2022 - Adiabatic spin squeezing, on arXiv

Here’s one more way to generate scalable spin squeezing with quantum simulators, when they implement a model featuring spontaneous symmetry breaking. In our new work, with colleagues from Lyon and Villetaneuse, we show that adding a small magnetic field is all you need to do - see also here.

15 Jun 2021 - Simple theorems on spin squeezing, on arxiv

Our study of spin squeezing continues, and we uploaded a new work on arxiv (link) where we prove that it captures the first form of correlations appearing in non-equilibrium or adiabatic dynamics.

15 Mar 2021 - New on arxiv: Spin squeezing and Anderson tower

Together with colleagues from ENS Lyon, we just uploaded our new work on arxiv (link), dealing with the generation of spin squeezing in the dynamics of some long-range quantum spin models.

27 Jan 2020 - How to detect anyons? (talk at ENS-Lyon)

Today I gave the talk “A scheme to detect anyons in cold atoms” at the condensed-matter working group of ENS-Lyon. Here are the slides I presented.

20 Dec 2019 - VaQuM2020 School

Here is an announcement for the school VaQuM 2020 - Variational Methods for Quantum Many-Body Systems, featuring six mini-courses on variational approaches to the quantum many-body problem. The school will take place at Ecole Normale Supérieure de Lyon in spring 2020 (from March 30th to April 1st), and the deadline for applying is on February 16th. 15 Oct 2019 - New on arxiv: Harper-Hofstadter model via Tree Tensor Networks

Our work on the quasihole excitations of the Harper-Hofstadter model is now on arxiv (link), see here for more details. For this study we made use of the Tree Tensor Network Ansatz.

27 May 2019 - New paper on arxiv (repulsive Fermi polaron in two dimensions)

We uploaded our work about polarons in two-dimensional Fermi gases on arxiv (link), see here for more details. The data obtained through Quantum Monte Carlo simulations are also available (link). This work is the result of the collaboration of groups in Trento, Barcelona and Milano.

14 Dec 2018 - New paper on arxiv (Fermi mixture with dipolar interactions)

We uploaded our work about dipolar gases on arxiv (link), see here for more details. The data obtained through Quantum Monte Carlo simulations are also available (link). This work is the result of the collaboration of groups in Trento, Barcelona and Grenoble.

New paper accepted in Physical Review Letters: Time-of-Flight Measurements as a Possible Method to Observe Anyonic Statistics (PRL, arxiv). See here for more details, and here for the scientific code related to this project.

13 Dec 2017 - New on arXiv: Vortex-lattice Bose-Hubbard model, with density-dependent hopping

We uploaded a new manuscript on arXiv: Density-dependent hopping for ultracold atoms immersed in a Bose-Einstein-condensate vortex lattice (read it here). The numerical optimization of the variational Gutzwiller wave function is performed through Simulated Annealing, and its python/cython implementation is publicly available on Zenodo. Comments are welcome!

The defense of my PhD thesis (“From few-body atomic physics to many-body statistical physics: The unitary Bose gas and the three-body hard-core model”) is scheduled for Tuesday, December 6th. 20 Apr 2016 - anneal - release 1.0

I released the first version of anneal, a simple python implementation of the simulated-annealing optimization algorithm. It is meant to be general purpose, and can be adapted to several cases, from sudoku solvers to model fitting. Have a look at the code on github, comments are welcome! (the release is also stored on Zenodo, with DOI 10.5281/zenodo.50116)
